Eligibility Requirements to be a Big

  • Big must be 19 years or older
  • Big must be a high school graduate or hold a GED
  • Big must be able to make a minimum 12-month commitment, meeting 2-4 times per month for a minimum of four hours per month
  • Big must have a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
  • Big must meet specific criminal history and automobile driving guidelines

Thank you for your interest in learning more about becoming a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands.  We are excited to help you become part of a life-changing friendship. Information Sessions give you a chance to have your questions answered before officially signing up to be a mentor. They provide you all the information on what it takes to beome a Big, the responsibilities you have and a little more about our program.

To ensure your safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, our office building will be closed through at least March 31, but all staff are working remotely. All on-site information sessions and mentor trainins are hereby cancelled until further notice.
